Ohio University’s Eastern Campus is just two buildings on the top of a hill in St. Clairsville, 20 minutes from the West Virginia border. But to the residents of the region it serves, it represents a chance to do something many of them consider unrealistic: furthering their education.

Congressman Charlie Wilson visited Athens Friday to announce two grants for research totaling nearly $4 million.Both appropriations were given to the Russ College of Engineering and Technology to help the U.S. military find ways to reduce equipment maintenance and cut down on troop dependency on diesel.
