Just as pop-rock band The Epsilon Project got its moniker from a random name-generating Web site, the band itself only came about by chance.


Founding member and lead guitarist Stephen Pirovolos of Canton, Ohio, and lead vocalist Daniel Leister of Lodi, Ohio, met by being randomly assigned to a room on the first floor of Bush Hall their freshman year in 2005.

The troubled economy has many Ohio music stores singing the blues, but stores in the Athens area are thriving.

“September was the best month we’ve had in store history, and October was our second best,” said Frank McDermott, owner of Blue Eagle Music, 40 N. Court St.

“November through Christmas was slower, but not drastically, scarily slow.”
