Tillman’s career high 28 points lead ‘Cats over Bucknell
By Brian Boesch / Contributor Saturday, January 03, 2009
A dominant second half and 28 points from Jerome Tillman propelled the Ohio Bobcats men’s basketball team to an 85-67 victory over the Bison of Bucknell Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. With the win, Ohio clinched its fifth consecutive 5-0 start at home and its 26th straight non-conference victory in Athens.
Tillman had a monster performance for the Green and White, especially inside. The senior came up with his 24th career double-double by netting 15 rebounds, one away from his season high. Tillman shot 10-of-16 from the field and made all eight of his free throws.
“That’s what we need, the inside presence,” Tillman said. “I just wanted to post up a little bit more and try to make some things happen.”

By Brian Boesch / Contributor Tuesday, December 30, 2008

The Bobcats are now 4-0 at home and have won 25 consecutive non-conference games in Athens.
Ohio (6-6) shot 56 percent from the field, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, in the first half to take a 41-21 lead into halftime. St. Francis outscored the Bobcats in the second half, but the Terriers never came within 15 points as Ohio cruised to its second win in as many years over St. Francis.
“We just wanted to come out with a lot of high energy,” Ohio senior forward Jerome Tillman, who scored 19 points and snatched... <Read More>

By Brian Boesch / Contributor Monday, December 22, 2008
It wasn't pretty, but after a 1-5 road trip, Ohio was willing to take any type of win.
Jerome Tillman’s 18 points, 12 of which came in the second half, led the Ohio Bobcats to a 58-53 victory over the Crusaders of Holy Cross Monday night at the Convocation Center. With the win, the ‘Cats are now 3-0 in Athens this season and have won 24 consecutive non-conference home games.
Tillman drained the second of two free throws to end an 8-1 Holy Cross run and give Ohio a 57-53 lead with 12 seconds remaining. After a Crusader turnover, Ohio wrapped up just its second win in their last seven tries to avenge last season’s heartbreaking 62-60 loss to the Crusaders.
